Spectrolebias brousseaui - New Species


On March 31, 2013 a new species of South American Annual Killifish from Bolivia was described and published, Spectrolebias brousseaui. Here are some photos of this new species.

A young wild male that was collected in February 2013 (BP 2013-12). This is a new location and is non terra typica. It is normal for young males to show a red coloration to the fins. This will disappear with age.
